emotion in the ocean
Originals by Zara Akmalova
My work lies within contemporary figurative expressionism, exploring the human body as a vessel of emotional and symbolic states.
I was always creative - ever since started talking . I would write poems , perform and always had something to say . When I grew up I decided to study acting but after many movie roles I played the hard truth has hit me hard- I couldn’t perform on my own vision fully and always had to shrink down to the director way of acting. That’s when I picked up a brush and canvas and started the real creativity journey.
The technique I developed throughout years is unique in a way that we collaborate with the paint . I lay a pour and guide my colors but the last say is always on a painting - because the colours dry the way they want to be - creating a shape for my imagination to work. None of the paintings can be repeated and I love to know that each piece is unique and one of a kind .
The inspiration comes from the life I live - traveling between continents, exploring and experiencing different countries, different natures and different me in all stages of life .
Throughout figurative expressionism I can give a face to my generation - unlimited kinds of curious personalities united by one things only - feelings .
